Anonymous website analytics
ourMSC counts website use so administrators can understand which information and tools are helpful.
What is counted
- Page visits and anonymous visitors
- A coarse traffic source such as direct, search, social or referral
- Starts and completed results for Benefits eligibility and Find help for my situation
- The first Resources filter change in a visit, calendar searches and whether they show events, and successful Ask MSC help-request submissions
- A page name such as Resources or Planning Ahead, without its URL or query string
What is never collected
Analytics never include Benefits answers, Help answers, ZIP codes, financial values, eligibility results, names, phone numbers, email addresses, form contents, medical information, full referring URLs or URL query strings.
Anonymous identifiers
The browser creates a random first-party visitor identifier and a random 30-minute visit identifier. They are not connected to a name or account. Records are automatically removed after 400 days.
Your privacy choices
Analytics are disabled when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. Opening a page with msc_internal=1 also disables analytics in that browser for one year; you can clear the first-party cookie to restore counting. Administrators see only the protected analytics dashboard after signing in.
